The Polar Plunge is back and with a cause! This hot and cold event is all about raising funds to support the Eagle Point-Blue Rapids Nature Navigator Van, which will play a huge role in continuing to make environmental outdoor education possible and accessible for youth in right here in the Drayton Valley Community.

What is the Polar Plunge?

The Polar Plunge is a fundraising activity for the Nature Navigator Van. You’ll dip into an ice bath for a maximum of 15 minutes. Once you’ve completed your plunge, you’ll warm up in the Hush Nordic Sauna, a mobile Nordic barrel sauna that provides the perfect way to recover from the chill.

Here’s how it works

  • Register and Plunge: Sign up to take the plunge yourself! Registration is open to anyone 12 years and older (parental consent required for ages 12-17). There is a minimum plunge fee of $20.00 per participant, payable by cash or credit when you arrive. Pre-register online to secure your spot and avoid waiting in line—though walk-ins are welcome, wait times cannot be guaranteed.

  • Raise Funds through Pledges: Take your impact further by gathering sponsorships from friends, family, or businesses. The participant who raises the most funds will win a free weekend with the Hush Nordic Sauna! Get your copy of a pledge forms by CLICKING HERE
  • Plunge and Warm Up: Participants will plunge into an ice bath for a maximum of 15 minutes. Afterward, you’ll get to warm up in the cozy Hush Nordic Sauna for up to 20 minutes. Hush Nordic Sauna is a Mobile Nordic Barrel Sauna and a proud local business from Drayton Valley.
  • Cheer and Support: Not up for taking the plunge? You can still participate by donating or cheering on them plungers. Every dollar raised goes directly to supporting the Nature Navigator Van and the vital education it brings to our community.

Why this matters

Last year alone, 4,854 kids participated in our environmental and outdoor education programs—and this number is growing every year! By participating in the Polar Plunge, you’re helping us continue to provide quality, hands-on environmental education. The Nature Navigator Van ensures every student, no matter where they’re from, has access to these opportunities to connect with nature.

How to register

Pre-registration is encouraged for faster check-in but not required. On-site registration will be available on the day of the event, but remember, pre-registered participants will be prioritized.

  • Hair tie
