Dozens of migratory birds. Four beautiful trails. One amazing way to start your morning.

From late May to mid June, the Drayton Valley region becomes a hotspot for migratory birds—and we want to help you catch a glimpse of them!

Join us for Early Bird Walks, a free, guided birdwatching series happening every Wednesday morning for four weeks. These walks are led by knowledgeable birders who are familiar with both the trails and the birds that frequent them.

Whether you’re new to birdwatching or a seasoned spotter, you’ll enjoy learning how to identify birds by sight and sound while hiking some of the most scenic trails in our area.

Here’s the lineup:

• May 21, 2025 – Pembina Nordic Centre
• May 28, 2025 – Rotary South Trails (near Riverview Cemetery)
• June 4, 2025 – Hilltop Trails
• June 11, 2025 – Willey West Campground (Old Boat Launch)

🕖 Time: 7:00 am to 8:00 am (Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time)
💰 Investment: FREE!

What to bring:

• Binoculars (Don’t have binoculars? We’ll have a few you can borrow!)
• Water bottle
• Waterproof footwear
• Weather-appropriate clothing

These walks are family-friendly, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No registration is needed—just show up and enjoy!
