The EAGLE Trail Triple Race Series

So many in-person races have been cancelled or postponed this year, so we’ve created a virtual race series! You can put some dates and distances on your calendars to work and train towards this year with The Eagle Trail Triple!

Participants in the Eagle – Trail Triple will receive:

3 trail races that will build upon one another throughout the year.

Swag bags may be picked up with the first race (May 7-16th) at the Ramada in Drayton Valley, Alberta.

Drayton Valley is a town in West Central Alberta. It is located on Highway 22, approximately 133 kilometres southwest of Edmonton. It is surrounded by Brazeau County.
All races are located within Eagle Point Provincial Park.

Race Dates, Distances & Trails

Race 1: May 15th at Rotary-Pembina Nordic Community Trails (South) – 7 km

This is a great starter trail for the season as it is double wide, offers views of the North Saskatchewan River, loop trails plus one out and back for a beautiful 7 km race.

Race 2: June 19th at Pembina Nordic Community Trails (North) – 12 km

Get ready for a longer run with this race with the bulk of the trails being double wide with a hint of some single track.

Race 3: September 18 at Hilltop Trails – 10 km

Be ready for some sweet single track trails with this one! Although shorter than June’s race, this one involves more technical running and some steeper hills.

The Friday a week prior to the actual ‘race’ day, the course will be marked as well as posted online (using Strava) – you have until midnight on the day following the official race day to send us your time. This will give you just over a week to get out to complete the course. Should you run the course multiple days, only your first time submitted will count.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female in each of the following categories at the end of the race series (times for all three races will be calculated):

up to 17 years old
18 – 30 years old
31 – 50 years old
50+

In addition, there will be a prize for the participant whose time (over the three races) is closest to that of the race organizer!
